The Whitley Bay Regional

HOW TO GET THERE:

By Satellite:
The postcode for the venue is NE26 1LY

By Car:
From the north (A1) then A191. From the south A1(M), A194(M), A19 through Tyne Tunnel (toll) then A191.

By Rail:
The nearest major railway station to the venue is Newcastle which is served by:-
East Coast services from London King's Cross via York, Doncaster and Peterborough and from Edinburgh Waverley, Glasgow Central, Aberdeen and Inverness.
CrossCountry services from Reading, Oxford, Penzance, Plymouth, Cheltenham Spa, Bristol Temple Meads, Birmingham New Street, York, Leeds, Doncaster, Derby, Sheffield, Edinburgh Waverley, Glasgow Central and Aberdeen.
First TransPennine Expresstrains from Manchester Airport, Liverpool Lime Street, Manchester Piccadilly, York, Leeds and Huddersfield.
Northern Rail operate local and regional services from surrounding area.
The region is also served by Grand Central (North East) services from London Kings Cross to Sunderland via York and Hartlepool.

By Coach:
A limited National Express service serves Whitley Bay. However more regular services from a wider choice of destinations serve Newcastle upon Tyne, which is also served by megabus services on a number of competing routes. Bargain fares may be available on selected coach routes.

By Sea:
DFDS Seaways operate daily overnight roll-on/roll-off ferry crossings from IJmuiden near Amsterdam to North Shields.

By Air:
The nearest airport is
Newcastle International Airport which is served by flights from UK and major European cities.

By local transport:
Numerous buses serve the local and surrounding area. However, from Newcastle city centre and international points of entry, the Tyne & Wear Metro offers a quicker journey, for which the nearest stations are Monkseaton and Whitley Bay. Buses, however go closer to the venue. Newcastle PLUSBUS tickets are NOT valid on the Tyne & Wear Metro, nor are they valid as far as Whitley Bay.
